Privacy Policy for Onyx Bill Organizer
Last updated: September 27, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Onyx Bill Organizer (“we,” “our,” or “the Application”) handles your information.
Our core philosophy is simple: your data belongs entirely to you. We do not operate our own servers, track your activity, or have any access to the personal data or financial information you enter into the Application.
1. Data Storage and Apple iCloud Sync
Onyx Bill Organizer gives you control over where your data lives:
- Local Storage: By default, all entries, bill reminders, amounts, categories, notes, and settings are stored locally on your device.
- iCloud Synchronization (Premium): If you have Premium and are signed in to iCloud, your app data syncs automatically across your personal Apple devices using Apple’s native CloudKit/iCloud infrastructure. To stop syncing on a device, turn off iCloud Sync in Onyx’s own Settings; your data stays on that device and in your iCloud account. Turning off iCloud for Onyx in your device’s Settings app instead removes the synced data from that device (it stays in your iCloud account, and returns if you turn iCloud back on for Onyx).
- Zero Developer Access: Your iCloud data is stored in your private Apple account container. We do not own, operate, or maintain any intermediary servers, databases, or API relays. We have no technical ability to access, view, intercept, or decrypt your synced bills or records.
- Apple’s Security: Data transmitted to and stored within iCloud is encrypted and governed directly by Apple’s Privacy Policy and Security Guidelines.
2. No Data Collection by Us
Because we run no external servers or proprietary cloud services:
- No Personal Identifiers: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or account logins.
- No Financial Information: We cannot see or store your bill details, due dates, or amounts.
- No Payment Information: Premium is purchased through the App Store and processed entirely by Apple. We never receive your payment details or identity.
- No Analytics or Telemetry: We do not track user behavior, page views, session lengths, or interaction patterns.
- No Crash Diagnostics or Device Tracking: We do not collect crash diagnostics, unique device identifiers (IDFA), IP addresses, or network diagnostics. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may provide us with anonymous crash reports and aggregated usage statistics.
- No Cookies or Tracking Pixels: The Application does not use web trackers, cookies, or persistent device fingerprints.
3. No Third-Party SDKs or Data Sharing
- No Ad Networks or Analytics SDKs: The Application does not integrate third-party SDKs, tracking libraries, or marketing frameworks.
- No Sale or Disclosure: Because we never collect your data, we never sell, lease, share, or monetize your information with third-party brokers, advertisers, or affiliates.
4. Device Permissions
Onyx Bill Organizer may request access to standard device features to support intended app functionality:
- Notifications (Optional): Used solely to schedule local alerts and due-date reminders on your device.
- Network Access: Used only to communicate with Apple’s iCloud servers when syncing your data across your devices, and with the App Store for in-app purchases.
5. Managing and Deleting Your Data
You maintain full ownership and control over your records at all times:
- Editing & Removal: You can add, edit, or delete bills at any time directly in the Application.
- Stopping iCloud Sync: Turning off iCloud Sync in Onyx’s Settings keeps your data on that device and stops it syncing. Turning off iCloud for Onyx in your device’s Settings app removes the synced data from that device, but not from your iCloud account.
- Local Data Removal: Uninstalling the Application deletes all locally stored data on that specific device. Data already synced to iCloud stays in your iCloud account until you delete it.
- iCloud Data Removal: You can view or delete your synced data at any time in your device’s Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Account Storage > Onyx.
6. Children’s Privacy
The Application is completely safe for users of all ages. We do not knowingly or unknowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or 16, where applicable).
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy if we modify our technical infrastructure or introduce new features. Any updates will be reflected on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
